You are engaged in close combat (remember you physically attacked him last turn) so the point blank modifier does not apply. That is only a 59, although a roll of 05 obviously still hits. Congrats, you blow off his foot, and he screams in pain. He is unable to wriggle free of Cristo.

Minx is up, make an Inquiry test with a +10 modifier if you want to begin interfacing. This is a full action.

OOC: good point Kyle! I went back and looked, and it says

"When you roll a 10 on any die (this includes a result of 10 on a d5, even though the number is halved)...roll an additional d10 and add it to the damage total."

So the damage actually is:
5 - 3 = 2
2 + 4 (SB) = 6
6 + 8 (Righteous Fury) = 14

You shouldn't have brought that up though, he was only unconscious before, now you've snapped his neck Rolling Eyes

As you sift through the first layers of data, images began to flash through your vision. A view of a darkened gantry, the gloom punctured by muzzle flashes. You feel the phantom weight of metal in your free hand. Then, you open your eyes, and see your own face crouched close over you!

Data floods into your consciousness from both bodies. Overwhelmed by the contradictory nature and sheer volume, you struggle to find meaning in any of it. You are drowning in sensory input.


That's gonna be a Fear (Willpower) Test at -10, but it sort of counts as mind-control/mind-affecting, so you can add your bonuses from mind cleansing against it.

Miles, well-played! Allrighty! Now I need you to make a couple of rolls representing the negotiations with the AdMech (Peter can also make these rolls, since he's with you). Each one you pass gives you a +10 to ONE Influence Test later on, with an additional +5 for every degree of success. You don't have to try any of these, but you can take:

A Barter Test at +10.
A Deceive Test at +10.
A Forbidden Lore (Adeptus Mechanicus, Archaeotech, or Ecclesiarchy) Test at -30.
A Logic Test at -10.
A Scholastic Lore (Cryptology) Test at -30.
A Secret Tongue (Tech) Test at +10.

Once you've taken as many as you want (be careful, as failures will cause penalties), you can then make up to 5 Influence Tests on your base of 40, but any bonuses you earn above can only be applied to ONE of these tests each. (You may make each of the following tests multiple times to acquire duplicates, but each attempt counts towards your limit of five.

Adeptus Mechanicus Explorator Expedition - Influence Test at +0.
A team of tech-priests equipped with advanced survey vehicles and equipment, led by an Explorator Magos. Sufficient to survey the major features of a planet in three months.

Adeptus Mechanicus Mech-Wright Detachment - Influence Test at +10.
A team of tech-priests specializing in equipment maintenance and repair, led by a senior Tech-Priest.

Adeptus Mechanicus Reclamator Vessel - Influence Test at -20.
A cruiser-sized ship and a large team of Tech-Priests specializing in the recovery of ancient technologies, commanded by an Arch-Magos Reclamator.

Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii Cohort - Influence Test at +0.
A regiment-sized force of augmented Tech-Guard, led by a junior Magos Militant.

Adeptus Mechanicus Warship - Influence Test at -10.
A Mechanicus frigate-sized vessel in good repair, commanded by an experienced Magos Militant.
